I’m pretty sure you’ve already figured it out, but I’ve taken a hiatus from penning any Motorhead Blogs. Couple simple reasons for this.
First off, social media has really been turning me off lately. By my own choice my blog was linked to a Facebook page, a Twitter account and a Linked In account. One of them was hacked and all sorts of nonsense showed up, which irritated me. And frankly, I’m just about sick of feeling like my phone is just another appendage. Call me old, cranky and out of touch. If I start back up I may only post it at Motorhead Coffee and you may have to go there if you want to read it. Yes, I know that is counterproductive to exposure and growth…but those were never the reasons I wrote. I write because I like to and because my mind is full of stuff and once in a while I need to open the valve and dump it out.
Secondly, I want to regroup and reevaluate why I’m writing, what I want to say and who I want to say it to. Once I decide that, I will start writing again. If the world doesn’t pull the rug out from under me again next year then I expect a lot of riding to take place, including more backroad and unimproved road exploration. Maybe more coffee thoughts, as I’m moving into 16 or so years of coffee roasting. Who knows what else.
I know some people were expecting me to write when Tom Petty died. Heck, my oldest daughter was so worried when she heard the news that she called me immediately to check up on me! In fact, I think all my kids reached out to me that day. I must be an easy read! I will admit it had an impact on me for random reasons…hey, what can I say, I’m a sensitive guy!
So for now I just want to say “thanks” for reading and following along. You have been very kind and your responses have been much appreciated. Seen you down the road.
